Joe, I think they definitely over charged you. I just
had mine done and the bill was $400.00 but they billed
it under "16,000 mile service" and replaced valve-
cover gasket and all O- seals for valve-cover bolts.
Also replaced 4 spark plugs and synched throttle
bodies, changed oil and filter. Put all old parts in a
plastic bag and asked me if I wanted them, which I
did. I have a fear of dealers,do all my own service
and this was first dealer service in 50,000 miles. I
removed all body work, mainly for fear of
scratches/improper reassembly,but also to save a
little on labor. Only left front/ rear fenders and
headlight portion of fairing on bike.Still they
managed to scratch rear fender and smudge front fender
with a finger print with what I thought was grease,[
no big deal until I tried to clean it up] only to find
it was a harsh chemical like brake fluid and ate into
the paint. I was so peed that I never went back to
show them. Just a reminder that dealers are risky
business. They also adjusted the chain so tight that I
had to re-adjust it right away.
Unless I don't have proper tools or time for a major
job, I won't bring my GTS into a dealer for service.
