A TL8 sniper from Earth could have all these gadgets and take the perfect shot, only to find the Evil Overlord protected by several hundred points of force screen. Minions are fair game, of course. Meanwhile, the TL12 warrior knight would have an unergonomic blaster whose bolts impact all around the Terran position. Neither side will get anywhere without getting up close and personal. This isn't REALISTIC, but hey, we're talking about alien (?) bad guys with stardrives, stargates, contragrav, beam weapons, ... I want a cinematic setting for good stories. I'm thinking of a 9,000-mph fighter with aMR 30. Imagine two of those dogfighting. Who can take more G without blackout, the hero or the villain?
