US Civil War, the armies both went to war using tactics books from 1814.
Needless to say things did not go well..

Well, rifling, better powder, faster loading guns, with longer range and

Also amazed that the Gatling gun and like did not come out until after the
war, it was said to have been used in some places but .. All the elements or
most for WW1 was there in the civil war, other than maybe chemical munitions
but .. the rest was there for ground war fare..
Naval and Air was about to jump a bit forward, but it was showing some of
the signs later used in WW1.
Bu tI think my point is, just cause you got new tech, does not mean you know
how to use it at all, you keep using it like the old tech and that can be
very brutal. Or you limit youself, or

it looting, to exposure to blood and mental trauma. Field hospitals and how
to treat peopel was in its infancy also many of the Rule of War were very
outdated..
