Stephen replied to me:
Every shot that fires at a drone is a shot that (theoretically) won't be
fired at a dude in a suit. I'm starting to think that maybe we'd have dumb
sensor drones and dumb attack drones (so you don't have to carry sensors
AND weapons) and the guy in the suit coordinates them.

And what if the enemy can disrupt communications? TL10+ has neutrino communicators, which are pretty neat, but they rely on both sides knowing exactly where they are.

It might also be
possible to have a real vehicle out of the immediate line of fire with the
ability to ferry replacement drones and powerpacks to the frontline
operator.

Won't that be a target for long-range "seeking missiles"?

Though at that point I think things would be powered by the rule
of cool rather than "this makes sense"
In a roleplaying game things must be internally consistent, or players start to ask awkward questions. Readers are easier to fool.

Onno
