Brings up a very good point.
Almost everyone on the planet feels the need to set their monitor brightness
to 85,000,000 for some reason. What the hell happened in the last few years?
Shadows are no longer apart of gaming either, and level designers these days
tend to make maps overly dark because they don't realize their
gamma/brightness settings are too high.
deathmach. People dont want his enemy hide at corners at deathmach. Its
cool at singleplayer, but deathmach is much more about sport and
pragmatic, so is not cool to have fog, shadows, fog and other similar
stuff in a deathmach game, Or... yes, its cool, but most people (99.99%
and my dog) will shutdown off every fx posible.
anyway not everything is lost, you can add constrast as a side effect of
realistic eyecandy, like flares (argh!!), coronas, shadows, overbright
bits, glows, etc..
I love glows!.. If you can, test Industri(Tenebrae2) or Tron2 <---(good
engine!)
