I checked real quick and it seems the Internet tab outside of the game
combines the Internet tab and Custom tab that are inside the game.

So, does anyone know why they decided to put the custom tab only in the
search within the game? I personally never start the game first, I start
steam and go to servers, mostly because I play more than one game, not just
TF2. I'd also like to hear the answer to the question somebody asked
earlier, even if there isn't a custom tab in the stand alone search(filter),
it looks like the custom servers are still being filtered out, true or
false?

I have to agree with others. Just let us filter for the custom stuff on one
list.

I have not seen the new interface yet, because my game is not yet on the
orange box, but I'll fire up TF2 tonight to see what the hubbub is about.

Splitting available servers onto two screens seems divisive, unless you're
talking about history or favorites. I wonder what the reasoning behind two
separate tabs were...

I have to agree. As a plugin author, I was anticipating the sv_tags
addition so that users could easily filter for my plugins. As it has been
implemented, it is meaningless because the server admins become upset if the
plugin adds tags and moves them to the custom tab.

I don't know the solution, but I hope we can find a compromise that makes
Valve happy and still allows plugin authors to identify the server as not
"vanilla."
