My understanding from your comments is:
To input alphabets, users who uses only one layout should uses a direct
input mode of each engine (e.g. anthy) instead of Japanese keyboard layout
engine. Thus, they do not need to put Ja keyboard engine in the preload
engine list and to switch engines with Ctrl (Super) + Space.
Since engines such as Anthy and Mozc are enough customizable, #30 does not
requires this feature.
Is this correct?
