ralph,

i've done a fair amount of tasting in Oregon and loved every one. do you
recommend any particular vintner for viognier?

Rob,

Sheesh, Now you got me in pickle, When ever I drink a "V" that's from a new
winery, I like it best.. LOL (there have been a couple of Awful ones though)

But, If I was pressed to answer which one I drink most often .. It would have
to be ..
ERIN GLENN .... The Dalles..
Smooth, Fruity, And refreshing.. A good wine to drink on a warm day with
Lunch.. Particularly slightly salty foods Cheeses, Meats etc..

Then, Believe it or not, ... McMenimen's ... Troutdale...
A bit more acidic, Nice just for sipping. A slight "bitterness" but not
bad...... Probably more of a Seafood wine that the Erin Glenn..

Since Viognier is becoming one of the Trendy wines, Local winemakers are
playing around with the vintages.. I guess trying to be "Unique".
Some of their Experiments are really bad. Watery and Tasteless..
To give them a bit of respect, I guess the grape is a Fussy grape. One of the
reasons it almost went extinct. So maybe they just haven't figured it out yet..
I want to try a couple of Southern Oregon vintages that I haven't seen much of
yet.. A couple labels are getting high praise from the Critics..
So much Wine, So little time...

Ralph.
