OK, now we're cooking, or should I say, "Drink'n!" This winter, we discovered "Sailor Jerry" spiced run. 92 proof from the Caribbean with spices, caramel, and other 'natural flavors'. In a pinch, when you are with out a glass, you can just stare at the label with the hulla girl playing her uke! I don't remember what it taste like, but didn't worry too much about it the next morning!
Cheers!

It was suggested we start a list of beverages on-line so I coompiled such a list. If I missed you, I am sorry, just add yours to the top and carry on…

On Cold Days, Hot Chocolate and Brandy

On Hot Days, Salty Dog ( Grapefruit juice and Gin, touch of salt on the rim)

Mornings, Screwdriver (OJ and Vodka) Or........ Bloody Mary (Tomato juice and Vodka)

Noon, Chilled Pinot Gris or Viognier ( all Oregon made whites of course )

Dinner, Pinot Noir (slightly cooled) Sadly too often, Reds are served Too warm, Whites Too cold !

Evening, Martini ( Gin only, there's no such thing as a Vodka martini )

Night Cognac ( warmed or ambient )

we like Yuengling beer as cold as possible and some ever so slightly chilled nice red wine (Merlot) and occasionally Gin & Tonic. While sailing long days we like Club Soda and Lime cocktail (no alcohol) very refreshing and helps keep your wits about you and helps prevent stupid mistakes.

At the end of the day, if it's hot out, nothing beats a gin & tonic. When it's cold, I enjoy Scotch and water, but have never been too picky. I almost tried Stove Fuel once, but then remembered mine burned propane! ;-)

We keep a box of Chablis on board most times. Also, Ginger brandy and ginger ale (to mix Jolly Ginger Rogers - 1-1/2 oz. brandy, Ginger ale, and ice). Nice switch from Dark & Stormys. Dark & Stormy - I'm pretty sure that consists of a jigger of light rum mixed into about 6oz. of Ginger Beer. They're pretty good / and fairly potent, too - another drink best left for the end of the day.

Mount Gay for the obligatory toast to Neptune at the beginning of each voyage, tequila for the sunrises during afternoon cocktail hour (and possibly with breakfast as well), Bud (all my beer- drinking sailor friends like it), water, coke (regular and diet). We've also been known to have vodka on cruises for the bloody marys and screwdrivers.
