Congratulations for timely postings of minutes for the last several
meetings. Now if we could only get people to post the meeting agendas
ahead of time.

I would certainly have attended had I realized that
registration/formalization would be on the agenda.

I would have had interesting suggestions - such as:

- voting rights given for level of participation on the list (allows
non-resident participation)
- voting rights restricted to members who have been on the list for
several years (assures continuity and prevents take-overs)

- and others

May I be bold enough, to suggest, that as a process leading up to
registration(or even if we later decide never to register), that we try
to formulate what we are about i.e. a set of aims & priorities as well
as a set of guidelines for posting to the list, however loose.

I know that most registered societies normally do a cut-and-paste job
but I strongly recommend a slow and deliberate process for creating a
*real* document that has been hammered out to truly represent our aims
and aspirations, as far as is humanly possible.

I believe that starting such a process would ignite enough interest
(perhaps too much!), even if all is apathetic now - if the flames and
wars on this list is any indication!
