I'm fully educated on the pros and cons of a constitution .. too much discussion .. too little action !
can we stop beating around the bush .. and start some action please ? i fully am in favour of a start from scratch approach .. a cut and paste from some other association/society .. lawyers can do that for fulfilling the legal needs .. can some kind soul start giving suggested includes instead of the whys and wherefors of having/not having constitution let it take a 2/5/10 year time .. from the date of starting to frame .. anyone can be the ilug-cal's ambedkar .. who will begin ? why not YOU ? raja ? let's have a 'small' writeup .. YOUR idea of what can be included .. and then others can post their includes .. without commenting on others' includes ! too much talk .. too little action ! once we have a large collection of includes, a full open house discussion on the pros of each include can be made by the proponent .. and maybe we can THEN vote it in or out .. in an elightened way .. by putting a score on EACH include .. each member can give ZERO to FULL marks (out of 10 or 100) but that's so many moons down the time lane .. as of now .. begin .. for, to begin is more important than to only think of begin or not to begin ! ..pk (here's my include .. more may follow too : Society will have a paid Secretary who will look after the secretarial work of the Society Society will have a minimum staff of a peon, a clerk and a secretary to ensure continuity of its existence in view of the joining/leaving of members being a natural thing Membership will be of the types decided from time to time but will always have LIFE MEMBERS as a category Founding Members will be life members by virtue of their role and effort for creating the Society ..pk ----- Original Message ----- From: Raja Guha <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Monday, September 30, 2002 7:27 AM Subject: Re: [ilug-cal] Minutes of the 28th.. > > Congratulations for timely postings of minutes for the last several > meetings.
