Does this actually also effect OS 9?

I've heard both yes and no, but I've yet to get someone that can tell me
either way from personal experience.

I know it effects X.

The only Mac I've tried it on, booted the first time with 9 on a 2 GB
partition at the end of a 10 GB drive (I made an 8 GB for X, and tossed 9
onto the remaining 2 GB partition). After the first 9 boot, it failed to
boot after that. However, it doesn't report the flashing ? like reports
say happens when the boot OS is passed the 8 GB point, instead it drops
into OF.

X also drops into OF these days and won't boot normally (I have to issue
a Mac Boot to get it to start). So I chalked up that machine to something
else being wrong.

I'm curious if the 8 GB limit really effects OS 9 or not. Has anyone put
it to the test and knows for sure?
