Does the new iMac come with a modem? It does not have one built in. The Tech Specs for it list the Apple USB Modem, implying that it is included, but the Store pages show it as "None" and you have to select it as an optional item for $49. I suspect Apple has officially dropped the modem as a standard item on the iMacs starting with the newly released model. The iBook still appears to have one, and my guess is, the iBook and Powerbook will continue to have them for some time to come as portables are the most likely to need one based on Apple's typical market.
