No, but there's a distinct possibility that one of your RAM slots is bad. You might try just moving the one you have into the other slot and restarting -- could be the SLOT that's bad, not the RAM maybe!

Yeah. You can mix PC100 and PC133 in most models, but to avoid issues I usually match the two sticks as closely as possible.
