I've used PC133 in DV iMacs on a number of occasions... however, I must
point out that use of ANY ram not specifically said to be compatible by
Apple may or may not end up working. Even when it logically should (as
in
the case of PC133 in place of PC100).
Apple says PC100 from 32 - 512 per card for the iMac DV line. Anything
other than that may not work properly.
(in other words, I've been successful where Andrew was not, yet the
fact
that Andrew could not get PC133 to work does not surprise me in the
least)
And with only the single tone as a guide per Andrew, am now guessing
that
there must be a problem with this BeigeG3's pc100 chip, and will try to
locate the correct 168pin RAM and give it another go'round try then.
Meanwhile back at the ranch with HS aged 2nd Son buggin' me for sumpin'
to do his studies on, I pulled this 400's HD and dropped it into my
USBv1/FW Ext. enclosure with hopes that he'd be able to get at his
files with it attached to either a 333 revD or my Wallstreet, but've
tried every possible mixup of jumper pin configs and without, but not
one would allow the HD to mount zip, zilch, nada, sos(unless you kind
Gurus've got some tricks for me to try- ;-)) that this believed stock
10Gb Quantum Fireball CX (FBCXA 655T0071 *MF936017XH5NA F/W A3F0B20)
(uniquely, with only 9 jumper pins total to work with, my first) HD
has bit the dust giving up the ghost and will need replaceing too.
Any thoughts on this will be appreciated and welcomed. TIA for all
your kindnesses, considerations and time in helping me on this.
