Hi there.. I didn't think that my post was going to cause these type of
discussion.

I believe Sandy got my point right... and perhaps Len believed that I was
trying to explain a mirror operation when actually it was just a "standard
backup MX operation -spool and forward-"

the contradiction pointed by Len is perhaps just a missunderstanding or just
the way a quickly called things (lack of expression from my part. Sorry
:-) ).. but since it is just a backup MX operation we all (Sandy, Len and I)
know how it works... so I guess it is not helpful to argue about the
contradiction it self, since we 3 know how that type platform work.

Now, regarding the strong point made by Len "and you think backup MX is
appropriate "good advice" for mirroring a
mailbox server?" answering Orin's question....

You are right.. that is not an option for mirroring. I was giving my advice
of a way to be prepared when his Imail server goes down without spending a
lot of money in a cluster configuration.... it is not mirroring.... I made
that cleared at the begining of my post.

Regarding len's questions:
I run Imail in the secundary server where I point MX20 to.
I have schedule my primary Imail server to save the registry and Imail
folder every day via VP-LAN into another box for backup purposes. So if I
have to setup an IMAIL box from zero, I have an almost up to date
information to do that. There is a big, big chance that in the Spool and
Foward operation mail goes to the final and correct destination just fine,
after setting up MX10 from scratch.

Now the one millon dollar question is to Orin: How much money and human
resources does he want to spend on the "Mirroring Imail Server setup and
daily operation".. the answer will tell us what options to suggest and
further discuss about the details.
