Thanks Wayne, It looks like I have the same circuit on the ICSP
tutorial, although the ICSP port pinout is different. Also, there is
no reset switch in that schematic. Is there any issue witht he one I
have in the tutorial?
Why would the ICSP need a reset switch? The one in the Tutorial does
not have a connection on pin2 while the Microchip schematic I attached
does. It seemed to me that a missing Vdd connection might interest you.
What does need to be fixed, is my ICSP tutorial's port pinout should
match Jaluino ICSP port pinout, and both of these should match
microchip's PIC Kit 2 pinout. I have not had time to check this. Seb,
does Jaluino match the ICSP port in the schematic Wayne just posted?
What I was really looking for at the time is the ability to connect
both ICSP and bootloader with CTS reset at the same time. I have
successfully done this, but have not had anyone verify it's workings.
There may be an issue with "insufficient reset at startup". My main
reason for doing this is that I would like to test many bootloaders,
this means I must program via ICSP, then test the bootloader via
serial port. I suppose I have given up on this due to lack of
assistance, although you have all been a great help on this, it does
require more thought. I simply do not have the electronics knowledge.
I have not checked out your version as I am using the one published by
Microchip. I just has a chance to look at the Tutorials and saw the
difference in yours and thought I should bring it to your attention.
Regards
Wayne
