Yes, now we're talking two different things though, patents vs.
monopoly/antitrust. The former protects companies, the latter protects
the consumers.

We just see it in different ways. I would love to see Java and the JRE
modernized and revitalized, but that's just not going to happen -
there's too much bloat and compatibility. That's pretty much what Cay
Horstmann confirmed in the last podcast.

It has always been my interpretation that there are two branches/
communities, the pragmatic hacker community and the official committee
community. The latter talks the talk, the former walks the walk. The
truth is we need a little bit of both, but they sure don't seem to mix
very well these days.
