So I take it that the answer is still "I don't know"

Hopefully the question will come up in another forum that has more
background and information.

Best,

For example, if I was going to -argue- in favour of either OSGi or
Jigsaw, vs just listing what I recall of Mark's technical reasons
behind jigsaw vs. OSGi, I'd for example mention that many of the more
vocal members of the OSGi community suffers from a paranoia complex
and tend to be rude. For example, you yourself here suggest my
understanding of Mark Reinhold's reasons for Jigsaw painted OSGi camp
as political, without explaining what part of what I wrote paints that
picture. I certainly don't see it, and making non-obvious accusations
is rude in my book. I'll back up my insinuation that you are paranoid
in regards to OSGi vs. Jigsaw so as not to be rude:

Nope. You didn't name any version. But that's neither here nor there.
You see, I was responding to Fabrizio, not you. That's why most posts
include a quote, so that you know who is responding to whom.

Yes. Given that Mark's main issues with OSGi are all technical, I'd
like to hear technical arguments about why he's either wrong, or why
OSGi can adapt to address them, or why these technical arguments
aren't significant enough to warrant a new module system. I'd far
prefer this to accusations of "politics", whatever the heck that
means.

What possible relevance does an eclipse guy's opinion on OSGi have on
whether or not Oracle / Mark Reinhold may or may not change his mind
about Jigsaw, or about the technical issues that he's raised to
explain why he prefers the jigsaw solution?
