There may be children who have died and you do not necessarily find out
about this.  One of the families I've looked at recently had children
1698, 1700, 1707, 1709.  My guess is that there were probably 2 or 3
children between 1700 & 1707.  Either they were baptised elsewhere, or
they died.  A will may partially sort this out, but often, one never
finds out the truth......
