Thanks for your invaluable help.
I've come up with thise set of scripts:
on startMovie
global vol
set vol to 125
set the volume of sprite 6 to vol
end
volumeplus:
on mouseUp
global vol
if vol > 0 then
set vol to vol -10
set the volume of sprite 6 to vol
end if
end
volumeminus:
on mouseUp
global vol
if vol < 255 then
set the volume of vol to vol +10
set the volume of sprite 6 to vol
end if
end
and then I added a new behaviour to the QT(sprite 6)
on prepareFrame
global vol
set the volume of sprite 6 to vol
end
This seems to be working on both Mac and PC without the volume shift
before the QT starts to play. Is there anything wrong with this in terms
of performance hits or compatibility? Because of "prepareFrane" handler
the message window is constantly scrolling, resettting the volume of
sprite 6 to vol - but the sound is set to last setting. Is there a more
elegant way of achieving the same result?
Again thank you for taking the time to guide me through this
