Kerry,

Together we've covered all bases.  I wrote her off-list and showed 
her a demo program that used lingo to play a sound file.  The sound 
fadeout code worked just fine with that.  I suggested that she save 
here QT file as an aif, wav, or swa.  But it looks like you showed 
her how to do what she wanted with the file she wanted to use.
