On the contrary - that's the convention in West Bengal ... and Sreangsu is
from somewhere in that region I think.

Dhandaa of Paani?  A water dealer? :)  Dandapani actually (a guy who wields a
staff / stick ....), contraction of "Dandaayudhapani" (one who wields a stick
like weapon, ie. a spear ... => Karthikeya / Murugan)
