Probably. Are you using the drm from the kernel or from the DRI tree? The
one in the DRI tree is the best one to use, especially if you are using the
DRI X server. Which X server are you using?

>Also, when I start X here is the output concerning DRI/DRM:

This means that it has loaded and enabled the DRI... So your kernel part is
probably correct.

This should be OK.

Try /usr/local/games/quake3/quake3.x86 +set r_smp 0 +set r_gldriver
/usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.so

Seems that you can't remount the partition as read-write. Try remounting
it using mount -o remount rw (see man mount because I don't remember
the correct syntax).
See also in /var/log/messages if there are error messages.

Hi, we are trying to identify a problem which seem to involve memory leaks.
Being quite "green" on that OS, we are looking for a tool to help us. Here
are some basic information on what we are using:

RH 6.2;
Postgress;
Our application is multithreaded.

We are looking for something simple to install/use.

Thanks for the help

Do a search for "lm_sensors" on http://freshmeat.net/ . Your
motherboard hardware must include one of the monitoring chips that
lm_sensors knows about, but that's probably the case. You must download
the i2c patches and compile them if you're using the 2.2.x kernel; read
the README files or prepare to spend more time than you'd like cursing
depmod -a for giving you lots of errors.

Hi folks,

I'm going to set up a Dell Inspiron Notebook including a Dell TrueMobile
1150 WLAN PCMCIA-Card with S.u.S.E. Linux 7.1 and I'm looking for a
driver or at least some information about the support of this WLAN card
under linux. I hope someone in this group can give me a hint! Maybe, the
card is driven by an ordinary chipset and I just didn't find out at
Dell's support...

Waiting for help,

You might be interested in this web page:
http://www.hpl.hp.com/personal/Jean_Tourrilhes/Linux/Linux.Wireless.drivers.html

It contains information on your Network card and also explains how it is
really a re-badged CISCO AiroNet card. It does outline a driver and some web
pages that you might like to get and look up.

See ya

I'm using DRM built into the kernel. Should I rebuild a kernel and
build DRM as a module? Or can I use the kernel I have now (w/ DRM builtin)
and just insmode the DRI module?

No, I have heard about HPFS in 2 ways:
- HPFS on HP-UX as in HP's own File system. As far as I know, is it a
Harddisk filesystem
- HPFS on Apple (MAC's?) where it is an CD-Rom file system.

As far as I know, there is some support for the latter one in the CD-Rom
section of the kernel.

When I was playing with some of the 7.1 betas, I often found that
slocate would run from cron soon after the first boot after installation
to create an index for locate. It put the disk through a real workout
for a long period even though I didn't have any applications launched.

The HPFS I was referring to is as used by IBM in OS/2.
Linux kernel contains read/write support but I need to format and write
extended attributes too.

2.4.4 compiled from plain vanilla source? Check the directory
/lib/modules/kernel/drivers/pcmcia/ My guess is that there isn't any
i82365.o, since the kernel source you downloaded probably doesn't include
the source for the module.

Assuming you don't have the source for the module at hand and can simply
compile it against your 2.4.4 kernel, you may download the current version
of David Hinds pcmcia card services from someplace like

http://sourceforge.net/projects/pcmcia-cs/

which includes source for supported cards. Current version is 3.1.25. The
tar.gz file fits on a floppy, so you're not faced with the Catch-22 of how
to download support for your pcmcia services onto a machine that needs
support for those services before you can download anything.

Your best bet might be to just install OS/2 into a small partition and boot
manager in a 1M partition with selections for OS/2 and linux.
