If you want to dual boot Vista and Linux, you may want to research
how
to do that. It is not as easy as dual booting with windows versions
prior to Vista. M$ changed the boot arrangement for Vista and made
it
a lot more complicated. A good place to start might be "Windows
Vista
startup process" at:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Vista_Startup_Process#Booting_seq
ue
nce
Another is [Vista] "Boot Configuration Data" at:
 http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa362692.aspx
If those two don,t scare you, this one will, "Boot Configuration Data
Editor Frequently Asked Questions" at:
 http://technet2.microsoft.com/WindowsVista/en/library/75e0d9a9-368d-
4b0f-8c0c-6ed3270742ea1033.mspx?mfr=true
If you come to the conclusion, as I did, dual booting Vista gets
complicated.
There is some light at the end of the tunnel though. This next link
is
from a blog of someone who had done it for Solaris and with a some
modifications, this should work for Linux. "Vista and Solaris Express
dual boot" at:
 http://blogs.sun.com/moinakg/entry/vista_and_solaris_express_dual
There is another "How To" that is simpler, but I can't find it just
now.
I haven't tried this, so make SURE you back up your MBR before you
start. In that last blog, there are some newer enties that talk
about
preserving the disk id that Vista looks for. You may want to check
those out too.

I curently have 16 Linux distributions multibooting with Windows 2000
Pro with no problems, but I have not picked my favorite yet.
