Actually, a lot of us here like SEED.
I tend to agree. I thought SEED was pretty nifty, myself, and I
didn't see any need whatsoever for a sequel. I thought it was all
wrapped up extremely well, even if there were a few unanswered questions.
There was even a member of the list that constantly posted about how
horrible SEED was...
until he saw the Battle of Alaska episode, and did a complete and
total 180 degrees. It was pretty funny at the time.
All of his posts on the topic were funny, mostly because he spent a
lot of time villifying it sight unseen. It was hilarious, but most of
his posts were (though certainly not intentionally).
What we really don't like is Destiny, a number of the Gundam
designs, and the huge quantity of Gundam designs that the setting
has introduced.
I didn't have issues with the quantity, at least not in the first
series. My real issue with Destiny is the introduction of the Zeon
designs (which necessarily forced the ZAFT designs into the
background) and the fact that Gundams seemed to be used in equal
measure by both sides, which ultimately made the mecha designs more
homogenized. If ZAFT had developed their own Gundam-caliber designs
in Destiny instead of stealing yet another group (or was it Earth who
did the stealing the second time around? I forget) it would have been
another matter.
