There were three Guncannons and three Guntanks, but there was never
any indication in the series nor the movies that there were two other
Gundams. They don't say there weren't, either, which opened the door
to the retcon. The novel, for instance, specifically states that there
were. If there was always supposed to have been three, why was there
no mention of them in the series/movie? In any event, the White Base
has a mobile suit capacity of six. Were they going to just leave the
Guntank at the colony then?
What I was originally trying to say however is that even if there
would have been three Gundams, they would have been three of the same
unit rather than a handful of different units, like Alfred originally
said.
