Hi there,

It’s Peter

Well it’s Friday and no doubt you’re as ready for the weekend as I am. We have
had a great week here at Look North – it’s been so busy with hundreds of e
mails on the name of the programme, the issues of Hull City’s game last
weekend, the C4 programme about Hull and loads of other issues as well. I think
it’s fair to say we probably have the most interactive TV show in the country
and for that we thank you!!!

TONIGHT’S LOOK NORTH
=====================
The programme's producer today is Jane and she’s already saying to me why isn’t
the show longer than half an hour as she can’t fit everything in, which is
producer code for I have a good show tonight Peter (till I mess it all up for
her)

We’ll be having a preview of the big film being made next week in Lincoln.
Filming for the Da Vinci Code starts on Monday at the Cathedral. Tonight we’ll
have a report from there and also I’ll be talking to one of the many people who
applied to be an extra. I’ll be asking him if he thinks he's going to be like
Rick Gervais and sitting having a coffee with Mr Hanks.

Also tonight a chance to win VIP tickets to see James Blunt - if you know
anyone who is a fan ring them now and tell them to watch tonight at 6 3O and we
shall also be having some live music as well from a 26 year old Hull lad Steve
Reed.

We’ve got a controversial one too. We catch up with a homeless man we first met
a year ago. He’s still sleeping rough. But he did manage to get some overnight
accommodation. Thanks to Her Majesty. Find out exactly how at 6 30.

THE BIG VOTE
============
Voting on the name of Look North reaches a high this weekend with the chance
now to vote at a special ballot box near you. You’ll find them in the
receptions at Hull, Grimsby, and Lincoln and on our two buses. If you have a
new name for Look North then you can vote now at one of the boxes or by e
mailing in.

By the way if you think you can help by placing a ballot box in your local pub
or shop etc - then we have 30 boxes to give away, but you need to act quickly!
If you want one then e mail me with your name and address and where the box is
going to be placed…..as ever get me at [EMAIL PROTECTED]

PETER’S POLL
============
Talking of votes the result of the first Peter’s Poll is a resounding thumbs
down to cricket. By 75 per cent to 25 per cent you’ve decided cricket isn’t
cool despite Freddie Flintoff’s best efforts.

WEEKEND
=========
The diminutive weather person said today was going to be the hottest day of the
year, I got soaked this morning on the way to work and it’s black as night over
Hull at the moment - you wouldn’t want to be Paul some days would you? Indeed I
wouldn’t want to be him at all. Whatever your plans this weekend hope it goes
well and his Lordship will have the usual forecast tonight accurate or
otherwise.

CAR STICKERS
=============
I noticed a Look North Car sticker this morning on a young lads bike…which
reminded me that if you’ve not got your car or bike sticker yet……it’s not to
late. Send me a fairly large SAE to BBC Queen’s Court, Queen’s Gardens, Hull
HU1 3RH

IT’S YOUR PROGRAMME
====================
As I said earlier in the week, we are always on the look out for good stories,
which we can do on the programme, if you have something you think we should
know about e mail as soon as you can. Also don’t hesitate to let me know what
you like and don’t like about the show. If there's something that we don’t do
enough or you don’t like…then let me know, I’ve got broad shoulders!!!

STARS
======
Look North is where you’ll find all the big names next week. Already booked to
chat with yours truly are Patrick Mower (Rodney in Emmerdale) singer Jane
McDonald and actress Samantha Giles from Where the Heart is………miss me at your
peril.

And here’s a challenge: Who would you really like to see me chat to on the
sofa? Suggestions please!

That’s all for now. See you at 6.30. Have a great weekend. Look North is on
over the weekend and I’ll be back with my letter on Monday.

All the best, Peter
