Hi there Peter here, Well great news - the weekend is nearly here and for many that means some time off and there are loads of events planned this weekend, not to mention the Challenge Cup Final in Cardiff. Let's hope it's going to be a good one and for that accurate forecast don't forget to tune to Paul at 1.30 and 6.30. How I can type this without laughing I don't know. I am in a grump today because my punctuation is being laughed at. I did say that I went to a very poor secondary school and was never really cut out for school and don't think that much sunk in!!!! I have been ridiculed since the LL letter started for my grammar and then the ultimate humility when I am pulled up on this live on Radio Humberside on Andy and Lara's show on their slot the 'Grammar Police'. Andy Comfort had better watch his step for the next few days !!!!!!
TONIGHT AT 6 30 ============= Join us this evening for the programme. As well as the days news, we shall have two singers from Hull who have just got through to the Pop idol boot camp after having a roasting from one Mr S Cowell. There's the latest on the name change campaign and tonight we announce the first two finalists from our week's shortlist. Then we do the same again next week - then the following Monday it's all over and we shall know the result. Thousands have been voting - thanks to everyone. Also tonight we'll be in Cardiff ahead of that game !!!!! LEVY LETTER =========== If over the weekend you are with friends or family and they would like a LL, then direct them please to the address at the bottom of the letter and if you want to write to me directly, then a reminder it's [EMAIL PROTECTED] PHONE BILLS =========== I said yesterday that my phone bill was high, mainly due to the current craze of texting. I am getting loads of e-mails on text and phone bills and will put some of those in next week. EXTRAS ====== Is anyone else really enjoying the comedy?? I now the first episode got panned by the critics but as usual an audience makes up its own mind. I think it's very funny and it also showed Les Dennis to be a great sport. I met Les at the New Theatre earlier in the year when I interviewed him and he seemed a really nice man. But he certainly gets some stick. In the episode when he is talking to Rick Gervais , I love the line when he says after all these years in the business "am I really just known for doing a Mavis Riley impersonation and Family Fortunes??" and Rick just stares. Classic stuff!!!! Talking of lovely people, I met Vicki Michelle yesterday from "Allo Allo ". She is in Stepping Out at Lincoln shortly with a friend of mine Glenda McKay - who played Rachel in Emmerdale. We shall have Glenda on the show in the next couple of weeks. COAST ====== I have loved this show and tonight at 9 on BBC2 it's all about our coastline and Hull. I am told that it really is an excellent programme and comes at a great time after the dreadful C4 programme two weeks ago. Don't miss it. I shall be watching . Talk about a wild Friday night for me!!!!! Mind you I'd rather be at home than on the roads this weekend. Apparently 7.2 million drivers are planning to take to Britain's roads over the next couple of days. 1.9 million have gone by plane ( that can't be right ) and 900,000 by train. I will be at Victoria Dock!!!! GUESTS ====== Keep those suggestions coming in for who you would like to see on the show. We are working on the names already suggested. Also any other stories or information you think I might find useful then drop me a line over the weekend. STRESS ====== Did you know that eight out of ten vets now say anmals suffer sress because they're left home alone? (it's a tough life isn't it - imagine most of the day lounging around doing nothing - Paul ????) Must go now . Have a great weekend and of course all the best to Hull for Saturday. Whatever you are doing have a good time - apart from the rugby there is also Motorbike championships at Cadwell Park and music at Lincoln Castle.
