Hi there Peter here,

I hope you are having a good day. As I write from Look North Towers here in
Hull it's very hot and I can almost hear the little one telling me it is 'as
forecast'. Paul spent the day here yesterday and we went out in the afternoon
on to the streets filming a Look North advert. Loads of people spotted Paul on
Whitefriargate and remarked 'gosh isn’t he small' of course nothing rude was
said to me, that’s my story and I'm sticking to it! If you’re vaguely
interested the advert will be on in the next couple of weeks! Can you contain
the excitement?

We had a text vote on the show last night about our name change campaign, and
asked very simply should we change the name, we had hundreds of texts in a very
short space of time. It’s obviously not scientifically accurate but it was
almost 50 50 voting for a change and against a change. It’s still not too late
to suggest your name by e mailing in and don’t forget if you’re a die hard Look
North fan, then you can vote to keep the name Look North. More details next
week of our short list of the names which have made it through to the
finals……..Meanwhile to everyone whose voted or had an opinion then 'thanks very
much' - If you saw last night then you will have seen that even the Bishop of
Lincoln has joined the debate, his vote is for COMPASS. Keep them coming in!!!

TONIGHT AT 6 30
=============
Well we have been hunting for Tom Hanks in Lincoln this week, he has been
pretty elusive but then he's been very busy I guess with making the film of the
Da Vinci Code. But I can reveal that today we have a major breakthrough - you
won’t want to miss the programme tonight. Also this evening we’ve got another
controversial one for you. Let me know what you think. We’ve got the latest
chapter in the story of the man who’s trying to build a rehab unit for drug
users in the middle of the Humber. The man is well intentioned. But is this the
way to go.

CAR STICKERS
============
I followed a lovely white Clio in to work this morning and spotted two Look
North car stickers in the back window and very good they looked!!! So it’s a
timely reminder if you would like your own car sticker - just drop me a line
and send me a large SAE.

FEEDBACK
=========
Thanks to everyone who’s written back after getting a Levy Letter-its always
great to get feedback and I’ve had quite a few suggestions for guests for the
sofa, keep those coming. By the way today for the first time two LLs will be
going to Nairobi in Kenya and also to Luxembourg!!! Look North has a lot of
viewers abroad as our big map shows. Of course you would think you live in
somewhere like Majorca after the siesta you would have a stroll down to the
local bar for a cool beer, but it appears that Look North is just too much of a
pull and now our overseas viewers have a chance to read the LL as well. If you
know someone abroad who would like to get the letter then get them to register
at one of our two usual sites, as ever the address is at the bottom of the
page. It would also be great to get an e mail or two from abroad just to let me
know where you are and why????

ON THE SOFA
===========
Still more suggestions are coming in for guests you would like to see on the
red sofa, keep those coming. Last night we had Patrick Mower on the show, what
a great guy he is and he lives in Lincolnshire!! Patrick, who plays Rodney in
Emmerdale, admitted that he and his wife watch Look North-always said he had
taste despite the medallion!

COMPETITION
===========
There will be details before the end of the week about an exclusive competition
for LL readers only- so make sure you don’t miss that one, remember this will
be for LL readers only and won’t be on Look North. It’s my way of saying a big
thank you to my loyal readers. Please continue to pass the word about the LL to
your friends and family and get them to sign up.

BIG SCREEN PHOTOS
=================
I was interested to read in the paper at the weekend that it won’t be long
before film cameras are extinct and we will all be using digital cameras and
judging by the number of photos that are sent to me digitally I guess I am not
surprised. If you have a digital camera send me your best view of the region
and I will try and get it on the TV one night when we show our viewer's
photos-it’s been one of the most successful things we've done on the show and I
think that’s down to the digital camera. I really must get one!

And talking of your photos I've just been sent some fabulous shots of Tom Hanks
in Lincoln. They really are great so I'll be showing them on the show tonight
and a big thank you to Steven who took the shots and sent them in.

Well must get on now there's still loads to do, thanks for reading and have a
good evening and don’t forget to join me at 6 3O on BBC1.

All the best

Peter
