Hi there Peter here, Hope your day is going well. The good news is that its Friday and the weekend is here, the bad news is that the weekend forecast looks pretty poor and I can see from my letters and from what Ive heard on Radio Lincolnshire and Radio Humberside that there are loads of events and weddings planned for this weekend. Whatever youre doing then I hope it goes well. My social diary for the weekend is full -he lies.
Its been one of the best ever weeks on Look North weve had a great response to our name change campaign, there have been literally thousands of suggestions and some of them have been really inspired and clever. I have my own favourites - amongst them are 'Lincs to the North' and 'East Coast Today'. I was wondering (and I will have to check with the editor) if I am allowed a vote .Surely I am - even Tony Blair is allowed to vote in the general election isnt he? TONIGHT AT 6 30 ============== Graham Boanass is the man who is planning to walk across the Humber-he's doing it this weekend Graham will be joining me in the studio ahead of that this evening. For the last few months Graham has been walking around with weights attached to his ankles to get him fit for the walk. I am also looking forward to meeting Samantha Giles this evening. I have always been a great fan of Emmerdale and Sam played Bernice for a long time. At the moment she is playing Sally in 'Where the heart is' and Samantha is centre storyline in Sundays evenings episode. And Ive just heard Ill be meeting the young mum who gave birth in the front seat of her car on the way to hospital. Can you believe it she was caught in a traffic jam? Both mother and baby are fine as youll see on tonights show. DIONNE WARWICK ================ How would you like the chance to see the soul legend Dionne Warwick? Its hard to believe that this superstar is coming to Skegness but she is on September 8th at the Embassy Theatre and you can be there! I have two pairs of tickets to give away if you can answer this question. In 1982 Dionne asked 'Why do you have to be a ?????' It was a big hit written by the Bee Gees .what was the title of the song? If you think you know and would like to go to see the megastar in concert in Skegness on September 8th then e mail me your answers as soon as you can. YOUR STORIES ============= Over the past few weeks several of the stories we have done and which have had the biggest impact have been sent in by you the viewers of the programme in other words you have been telling us what we need to be doing and thats great. If you have a story or think that you know something we should know about then get in touch with me. The strange story of the whooshing noise in the middle of the night was given to me by three ladies who I see in my lunch hour at a local café- no sooner had they asked me what the noise was than we had them in front of a camera!!! Viewers then helped out with suggestions and we had everything from barn owls mating to a large tall chimney. So dont forget if you want to get in touch with me my direct e mail address is [EMAIL PROTECTED] FREE ADVERT FOR ME =================== If youre out having a drink this evening or if youre mixing with friends over the weekend then dont forget to spread the word about getting a daily Levy Letter- just remind people that they just have to go to the Humber/Lincolnshire web sites and click on Levy Letter- not that you need any telling! IDEAS ===== Thanks for all the suggestions for guests for the show. I am passing them all on to our producer and we will try and get them on that sofa as soon as we can. I have noted that this week Barbara Streisand has been suggested- my only comment on this one is dont hold your breathe! SCUNTHORPE WHERE ARE YOU? ============================ We are putting together a calendar for Children in Need. Were selecting some of the best photographs which have been sent in over the months for the big screen in the studio. It's been very hard as there are some great pictures but what has happened to Scunthorpe. There are no pictures in this big pile from Scunthorpe and that is not very fair as its a major town in our area and we want it to be represented on the calendar. So its an urgent appeal for pictures from the Scunthorpe area to be sent to me as soon as possible. We are hoping to finish the calendar by mid week next week so we do not have time on our side. I would love a picture of Normanby Hall or the lovely village of Bottesford. But its up to you. COME DANCING ============= Jane McDonald came in last night on the show. I am sure you saw her. I have been told that she flirted with me but I have to say I didnt notice - well not really! Seriously, what a fab lady she is. I get to meet all sorts on the show and shes one of the most down to earth people I've come across totally unaffected by her fame over the last ten years. Jane has a tremendous voice. I've seen her in concert several times and I know she is very popular with our audience. Jane is on her way to Hull with the stage version of the TV show 'Come Dancing'. The show is being hosted by Jane and also Lionel Blair. Lets hope we can get him on the show as well. LINCOLN CASTLE =============== I've just been reading about this great Bank Holiday weekend planned at Lincoln Castle. I'd love to go to this one. Girls Aloud, Russell Watson and Tony Christie are amongst the stars taking part- it does sound like it will be a fab weekend lets just hope that Snow Whites little helper can give us some decent weather. RITA ==== Just popped out for coffee and met Rita. Rita was telling me that her Levy Letter isnt arriving till late. I gather from my techie friends here that this could be down to your service provider. Im sending out so many it may be causing a bit of a jam in cyberspace. Its nice to know the LL is popular but it may be worth having a word with your ISP. I promise you its not my fault!! I am pressing the right button. Ive had special tuition!!!! But dont give up. If there are still problems let me know. Rita said it might have to be a Leave it to Levy special. Well thats all for today, Join me tonight at 6 3O. Have a good weekend and do drop me a line when you get a second and dont forget entries for the Dionne Warwick competition. If you know anyone else who would like to enter then get them to sign up for the Levy Letter. All the best from me. Look North is on over the weekend on BBC1 as always. And Ill see you on Monday.
