Hello, it’s Peter here and here we are again with Wednesday’s Levy Letter. I
hope your day’s going well and I hope you’ll be able to join me tonight on BBC
One at 6.30pm as usual. I’ll have all the day’s news and of course Paul will be
with us for the forecast.

On tonight's programme, I'll be looking at the new police powers in Skegness
where an anti social behaviour order has been placed on the sea front. Find out
what that will mean for residents and visitors to the resort.

Plus I've been asked to step in to help with a dispute over a hedge in
tonight's Leave it to Levy. Find out how I get on. Am I able to help resolve
this? Well, tune in tonight to find out. And of course, if you’ve got a problem
that you need help with, then get in touch with me with your story. Give me the
details and also a contact telephone number as well. And we’ll aim to put it on
the programme if we can. The address to get in touch with me direct is [EMAIL
PROTECTED]

And this is an incredible tale. Tonight, I'll meet the house holder in Grimsby,
who got a shock when honey started running down her chimney! Can you believe
this? Thousands of bees had moved into the chimney stack in her son’s bedroom,
forcing him out to sleep on the landing. So we’ll meet the family in Grimsby
plagued by bees. All that tonight on the programme at half past six. I hope you
can join me then.

Contact

The other night on the programme, I showed you that picture of the cordoned off
area in Skegness after the bomb scare at the weekend, which was sent in by a
Look North viewer, Steven Wilmer. Well, thank you very much indeed for that
picture, Steven. I think you were very quick off the mark with that and as
always we appreciate knowing what’s going on in your area, so please keep in
contact with us. So if there’s a story that you know about or if there’s a
picture of an event that we could use on the programme, or that you want us to
follow up in more detail, then send it to me. So if there’s anything that’s
happening around you, that you think is newsworthy, then take a picture of it
or video it and send it in to us straightaway.

Sounds

I mentioned on Monday’s Levy Letter about our favourite sounds and the ones
that you like the least. This prompted quite a few emails. This one comes from
Suzanne Finn. Thank you Suzanne. She says, “On the subject of favourite sounds,
my number one sound is that of my children – four year old James and one year
old Charlotte laughing. However, because of my two sweethearts, I don’t get to
catch as much of Look North as I’d like to, because it clashes with bath time.
Any chance of a repeat later in the evening?” Well, of course you can always
catch Look North on our website if you go there and watch again. Or even
better, Suzanne, set your video so you don’t miss a single second!

Mister and Misses

I mentioned yesterday that there is the possibility that the TV show from the
seventies, Mister and Misses, will return. Derek Batey used to host it then and
lots of the younger ones, like the youngsters in our newsroom, don’t even
remember the programme. But there were questions based on how well you know
your partner. Well, there’s quite a few emails in from people to say that they
loved the show the first time around and they would like to see the programme
back. But who do you think should be hosting the show, Mister and Misses? Two
emails have both suggested myself! I don’t think that will be taken seriously.
Any more suggestions as to who could host Mister and Misses, then get in touch
and let me know.

Tipple

An alcoholic drink every day is the perfect antidote to old age, scientists
have shown. Researchers, who studied more than two thousand four hundred adults
in their seventies found that those who consumed between one to seven drinks in
one week were likely to live longer and have fewer heart attacks. This is
really good news, isn’t it? So adults, who drank between one and seven drinks a
week, were more likely to live longer. So there you go. That’s good news.

Cosmic Ordering

Thanks very much indeed to everyone, who’s emailed in as well on the subject of
Cosmic Ordering. Now, as you know, this is the subject of a new book,
Positively Happy - Cosmic Ways To Change Your Life, which is what Noel Edmonds
has been talking about these last few months. There’s a lot of interest in
this. The book is published in a few days’ time and I for one will be ordering
the book. And then after that, I’ll be ordering some very good things for
myself too! I must have a think about what I want out of life. But a lot of
people have written in to say it’s rubbish and a lot of people are saying it
sounds like a great idea. So your thoughts on that, gratefully received.

Property

Record property prices are set to soar for at least ten years in a massive
boost for home owners. They’ll see the value of their property increase by
around twenty thousand pounds every year. That is just incredible isn’t it?
That would then push the average cost of a home to almost £400,000 by 2016.
That’s just unreal isn’t it? The average home in this country will cost
£400,000. And I know I remember, and I’m sure many other people will as well,
but when I bought my first home in 1977, it was £7500! That was in 1977, so not
that many years ago really. And I’ve been hearing as well that because the
property prices are shooting up in East Riding, many people are moving out of
the area into Hull, where property prices are much cheaper in the city centre.
Many people are worried that that will have a knock-on affect on the small
rural communities around the East Riding. I’m sure that this will be a subject
that we’ll return to on the programme in more detail. And as ever, I’d !
love to hear about your stories about property prices.

Well, that's it from me for today. Join me tonight on BBC One at 6.30pm. Look
out for your Levy Letter again tomorrow. And don’t forget, if there’s someone
you know, who’s not signed up to the Levy Letter, but you think they would like
one on a daily basis, then point them in the direction of either one of the two
addresses at the bottom of the page. Click on there and click on Levy Letter
and they’ll then get their daily email from me from the following day.

See you tonight for the programme. Take care,

Peter
