Hello, I am back again! Still the emails are coming in about your thoughts at
news of the split of the band, the Beautiful South. Keep them coming in, but I
thought I should send a quick note to tell you about a special programme on BBC
Radio Humberside tonight. At 9 o’clock, we’ll be paying tribute to the band and
their remarkable achievements as Hull’s greatest export! You’ll be able to join
in the programme too either on the phone or by text or by email. So if you’re
upset at the news that the Beautiful South is to split, then join the tribute
to the band tonight at nine o’clock on BBC Radio Humberside with James
Hoggarth. That’s on 95.9 FM. I hope you can join James for that one!

And it’s all over the news at the moment – the big new tax, which is affecting
thousands of air passengers. It’s called the APD or the Air Passenger Duty and
it comes into force today. This new tax will come as a shock to some
passengers. Although airlines have already collected the tax rise from many
passengers, others will turn up at airports to find they have to stump up an
addition £10.00 for a short-haul route or up to £40.00 on a longer trip. Some
travellers, who have booked on low cost airlines, have seen the charge taken
from their credit cards, and one airline is refusing to allow passengers to
travel if they haven’t paid in advance. So it looks like it’ll be very heated
at the check in desks today. Well, are you travelling soon? Are you flying from
any of our local airports or from further afield? Have you been hit by this tax
and what do you think about it? Let me know and get in touch with me today on
this one. It’s the normal email address of [EMAIL PROTECTED]
 k. I look forward to hearing your stories on that new airport tax.

Take care, enjoy your afternoon.

Peter
