Hello, it's Peter here. Welcome to Friday’s Levy Letter. I hope your day's
going well and you'll be able to join me tonight on BBC One at half past six.
We'll have all the day's news and also Paul will have the forecast.

On the programme tonight we’ll have a special report on the growing campaign to
keep the Red Arrows flying over Lincolnshire. We'll hear how the Bishop of
Lincolnshire has parachuted into the debate.

We'll be live at Dunham Bridge to see what motorists think of increases in
bridge tolls. They’ve had a 100% increase over the last few years.

We'll speak to the father of a Yorkshire soldier forced to spend £300 buying
his own boots while serving in Basra. I’m sure lots of you will have something
to say about that, and as ever if you have any comments or opinions we’ll be
giving out the contact details later in the programme.

Also on Look North tonight we'll have the second part of our series on the life
of William Wilberforce. Tonight we're going behind the scenes at Pocklington
school.

And if you fancy a walk this weekend, we'll have just the thing for you. We’ll
also show all you bird lovers how you can be part of our nest box challenge. Of
course we’ll have all the rest of the day’s news and stories from our region at
the usual time of half past six on BBC One.

Michelle

Michelle Dewbury of course won The Apprentice last year, she’s from Hull, we
know her story, and she’s done hugely well. She beat off all the contestants on
Sir Alan Sugar’s show to take the crown. Well of course since then her life has
not been away from the headlines, but Michelle is a really nice lady who I’ve
met on a couple of occasions to interview, and she’s now written her
autobiography. By all accounts it’s quite shocking. I’ve not read it yet, but
it’s about to be published and she’ll be coming to Hull for a literary lunch,
and when she does of course we’ll be talking to her on the programme. Michelle
Dewbury, look out for her on Look North. She’s written her autobiography, and
she’ll be talking to me shortly.

Help

Don’t forget, if there’s anything you want some help with on the programme, if
you’ve got a problem that you think we might be able to deal with, then drop me
a line, give me the details and let me know, and also a contact telephone
number as well. If there’s a story that you think we should know about from our
part of the world, then get in touch. If it’s urgent of course then you can
always ring me at the BBC.
Now here’s a question for you, what’s been your experience of the health care
being offered by the NHS in East Yorkshire Hull, and Lincolnshire? Can you get
to see your GP when you want? Do you have an NHS dentist locally or do you have
to travel miles to be seen? Do you have to pay now after the dentist closed
their books to NHS patients and you’ve gone to a private scheme? Have you been
into hospital yourself or visited any family members in hospital? If so, what
was the experience like? Was the ward clean and tidy? Was the food good? Did
you have to wait ages for treatment in the first place?
Well on Look North we want to know, we’re about to give the NHS in Yorkshire
and Lincolnshire a major health check, and we want to know what you think about
it. If you’ve got an experience of the NHS that you’d like to share with us,
good or bad, then drop me a line and send them to me at [EMAIL PROTECTED] And
watch out for a feature on Look North on the National Health Service in the
future.

Supermarkets

We were talking about supermarkets on the programme yesterday and also on the
Levy Letter yesterday morning. We’ve had a lot of emails on the subject of
supermarkets, thank you for those. Every one that comes in, I read of course.
Some we can use on the air, some in the letter, some not. Thanks for the
response and keep them coming in. Don’t forget of course that we’ve had some
fabulous pictures on the programme this week. If you’ve got a photograph that
you’re particularly proud of and you’d like us to show it on the programme then
send it to me at the usual address.

Babylon

Hotel Babylon started last night, a new series of the drama set in a luxury
hotel, starring Tamzin Outhwaite and Max Beesley. Well much has been made of
the programme. It’s had lots of publicity, I know from emails from people to me
that people were looking forward to it coming back. One eagle eyed viewer
spotted in a trailer that Russ Abbot is wearing the same tie in the programme
that I’ve got on Look North, the one that I promised to give away last Friday
on the programme. Eagle eyed, or what? Well spotted.
Let me know if you’re enjoying Hotel Babylon. I didn’t actually get to see it,
but I’m sure it was very good.

Well that’s it from me today. Have a very good weekend. If you’re chatting with
anyone and they’re not signed up for the Levy and they’d like one, then get
them to go to one of the two addresses at the bottom of the page, and sign up.
If they do it at the weekend, they’ll get their first and daily Levy Letter
starting on Monday. Thank you for reading, enjoy your afternoon, and if you’ve
got something planned this weekend than I hope it goes very well indeed and
look out for your letter again on Monday. Bye for now.

Peter.
