Hi there, it’s Peter here. Welcome to Tuesday’s Letter. On tonight’s programme,
we'll hear claims from a senior nurse, who used to work at Bridlington
Hospital, who says staff shortages there are putting patients' lives at risk.
We'll have that exclusive report tonight.

And it's day two of the inquest into the fatal shooting of Simon Murden by
Humberside Police officers. His parents are giving evidence today and we'll
have the latest for you.

Plus we'll have the story of the deadly fish that's been caught in the River
Witham. It's a giant Snakehead, which hails from South East Asia. Its arrival
in Lincoln has got anglers and environmentalists worried.

Also tonight have you got precious memories captured on cine film? We'll have
pictures of Grimsby and Cleethorpes filmed in 1910 and details of how you can
share your home movies. That’s all on BBC One at half past six.

Beloved Pet

We all love our pets I’m sure, but is this going too far? A South Korean
company has said that it has taken its first order for the cloning of a pet
dog. The dead pitbull terror owner is from the United States and she loved her
pet, Booger, so much that she wants to reincarnate him! It’s quite expensive
doing this at £76,000, so you’d have to really love your pet! And the
scientists at Seoul National University will clone the dog using tissue samples
from its ear. The first dog ever was cloned at that University in 2005, but
this is the first time a dog has been cloned for a commercial client. It’s a
strange world we’re living in, isn’t it?

I’m sure you looked out of the window this morning with dread at the fog and
frost! It may be quite picturesque, but it certainly makes the journey into
work quite treacherous for many. Stay safe on the roads today. A number of
people had the time this morning to take a snap of the frosty weather, so
thanks for those. I’ll be looking at a picture to use on tonight’s programme,
so thanks for keeping in touch. If you want to let me know about a story, or
just to comment on any story that we cover on the programme, then email me at

Take care,

Peter
