Hello there and welcome to the final edition of this weeks Levy Letter. I must say I am really looking forward to the weekend. I just hope the weather and the roads stay fine for it to be enjoyed.
Star Wars, The Musical A new show will launch next year with the soundtracks of the films. In Star Wars: A Musical Journey, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra will play a live score, as excerpts from the films are shown on a cinema screen. The show has been put together by George Lucas company Lucasfilm and composer John Williams. However it will not be a traditional musical with actors, but will feature live narrators. The epic films have been edited down to two hours for the show and original music has been rewritten. The Royal Philharmonic will use an 86-piece orchestra and an accompanying exhibition will feature original models, props, costumes and production artwork. It will premiere at the O2 in London before going on a European tour. Weekend Telly Well what do you have planned for the weekend? Ive heard that some people are having X Factor parties in celebration of the live final this weekend. Louis Walsh spoke to Chris Moyles this morning, and spilled the some of the secrets of the live final. The three remaining acts, Eoghan Quigg, Alexandra Burke and JLS will perform Christmas songs and a duet. Louis hinted that Alexandra will be joined by Beyonce, JLS will perform with Westlife and Eoghan will perform with other Irish boyband giants, Boyzone. All three acts have already recorded a cover of the Leonard Cohen song 'Hallelujah' in preparation for the release. All the contestants are really strong this year, so it is hard to predict a winner, but it would be nice to see a group win. It is semi final time this week on Strictly Come Dancing. Three couples are left in the competition and they will attempt the Argentine Tango and their favourite dance of the series, performed to new music, with new choreography. Tom ! and Camilla will dance the Jive, Lisa and Brendan will take on the Quick Step again and Rachel and Vincent will attempt the American Smooth again. The main show is live on Saturday night at 6.10pm and the results will also be live at 8.55pm later in the evening. Who will make it to the final? Well have to wait and see! Royal Variety Performance Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall were entertained by the UKs top stars last night at the Royal Variety Performance. Leona Lewis was among those who welcomed the royal couple to the London Palladium. The 80th anniversary performance was headlined by Take That, with the cast of The Lion King also appearing. The variety show is in aid of the Entertainment Artistes Benevolent Fund. Other acts included, Duffy and Sir Cliff Richard. Comedy came from Jimmy Carr.
