Maybe this has already been mentioned and I hope I am not missing
something. The conceptual skils should include helping a company
determine if Linux and open source is right for them.  These
skills should include being able to name/match common open source
application names to the business need (web server = Apache ; 
database = MySQL/Postgres ;  Office suite = OpenOffice, file/print
services = Samba  ; Java server = BOSS.  


These skills should help someone understand/promote open source solutions without having to be very technical.
