If Spybot and AdAware don't remove all your infestations in Windows XP, download the freeware HijackThis from http://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/
then post its output in the forum on that site. You'll quickly have a reply (for FREE!) telling you what to do. I've had a few things that were extremely nasty, inserting Run commands into the registry, renaming their own files and the files they'd call plus changing their names in RAM after loading and other tricks to keep themselves "alive". HijackThis and that forum was the only way I was able to zap them short of a "nuke and pave" of the PC. (Format hard drive and reinstall the OS and everything else.) Once you have your PC clean and its normal list of things that start at bootup and what's running all the time, you'll be able to spot anything new and suspicious that pops up when/if the PC starts acting funny again. P.S. When you install Spybot, you want to install and run BOTH SD Resident and "Tea Timer". SD Resident is protection for Internet Explorer and Tea Timer watches for any attempted changes to the Registry and system files, then pops up a box asking if you want to allow or deny the change. Rule of thumb is if it pops up any time you're not installing/removing software or are not on a site you trust, click Deny! It will be total Fandemonium, Summer 2005!
