I have Uverse (fortunately a substation is only a block away from my house) and
my problem is not the speed coming into the house, it's that the coverage from
their wifi isn't very good within the house. We barely get a signal in a back
room that is only about 40 feet from the wifi hub — with three walls and a
kitchen in between, so I'm wondering if the kitchen appliances are interfering
— or from an upstairs bedroom that is almost right above the router.

When we had cable internet going through an Airport Extreme we had good
coverage all over the house. Does anyone know if we can connect the Uverse
modem/router/wifi thingie to our Airport and let that do the wifi, and if so is
that likely to provide better coverage? The Uverse router currently provides
the local IP addresses, so I wouldn't want both of them trying to do that,
which I guess means one of them would have to be in "bridge" mode?

With Uverse, all of our TVs also receive their signal wirelessly from the
Uverse wifi, so I'm not sure whether using an Airport for internet wireless
would affect those signals.
