O Wise Knowers of Latin:There isn't such a prefix; indeed, I should be interested to learn of any language in which there was one.
This isn't a Vergil question, but it is a Latin question. Our church is celebrating its 175th anniversary next year. We know that sesquicentennial is 150th. Sesqui means "one and a half." Is there a Latin prefix that means "one and three quarters" that we can use with the word -centennial?
Well, not much more than 'the hundred and seventy-fifth anniversary'; and you could always write CLXXV. Or you could say that your church had completed its thirty-fifth _lustrum_.Or is there another Latin term for this 175th anniversary? So far what we have is Dies Anniversarius Centesimus Septuagesimus Quintus, which is a mouthful.
