just a short response re "HO HO HO CHI MINH" chant --- The NLF and Viet Minh were communist nationalist organizations dedicated to first national liberation and then building socialism. HAMAS is a fundamentalist religious anti-democratic organization which was built up with Israeli help (money) so as to counter the secular nationalist wing of the Palestinian movement --- one could without fear of too much contradiction consider HAMAS virtually fascist in its governing style and lack of respect for human life -- including the human lives of the people they were supposedly "representing".
Chanting in favor of an NLF-DRV victory over US imperialism in the Indochina Wars was not the equivalence of chanting in support of HAMAS today --- In fact, HAMAS' behavior is an important prop to Israeli propaganda --- Trotsky may have opposed Stalinism but his followers did not support the Nazi invasion of the SOviet Union no matter how "degenerated" it was as a "workers' state." If pro-Palestinians want to demonstrate in favor of HAMAS they are sending a terrible message to potential allies.
