I asked the RTA about this when I was toying (npi) with the VG idea a couple
of years back. They didn't seem all that fussed about a couple of kilos then
but these guys change their rules depending on how they feel at the time
(don't ring on a Monday). 970 kg tare is used for rego tax weight in the
States that are using the National regs so I think that is the weight they
would be using for the 3x and 2.5x rules as well. The wagon weight that I
wrote about earlier might have potential but you never know, I'd be finding
out before parting with $$$$ for a VG.

Utes? who makes up the rules for these is anyone's guess.

i thought it went by the heaviest car in that model
same as 1200 utes being able to use CA18det's
they fallshort but still can be engineered?
