Trev,
The Skyline version has a different a/r which more than compensates for the
theoretical improvement in lag by fitting longer runners on the intake.
Skyline FJ's out of the box are fairly laggy compared to say a CA or SR, but
by fine tuning the wastegate and boost levels you can get it to an
acceptable level fairly easily. The first thing you need to do is to fit an
adjustable bleed and either remove the stock OBV or fit the Nismo version (1
bar on most RB engines) that doesn't leak.

Going on what you have said a skyline manifold with longer runners produce
more torque at lower revs than a short runners.

So does that mean turbo lag is reduced with the skyline manifold compared to
gazzelle short manifold?

Shorter inlet runners produce horsepower higher on the rev scale.Paul
Staneks fj20 1200 coupe has a manufacuted manifold that uses very short
runners with a large plennum.
