That really is the sweetest sound... WOT and a big
overlap cam and i start dreaming that i am mick schumacher...
What size is ur engine?
Is it stock or worked
Cam?
Not sure about vacuum lines cos i don't use a
booster but webers are renowned for poor manifold vacuum. I'd go with Malcolms
suggestion but have u seen the article on fitting tubes between all the runners
on the manifold to reduce the 'pulsing'? I've never done it so i can't
comment.
Chokes? I never do more than pump the throttle
twice and turn the key and it always fires up instantly.
But I reckon Melb winter mornings might test it
out. Where are u?
You don't need a return line for webers but u do
need a fuel pressure regulator if using other than stock fuel pump. With a
worked 2L engine on 45's a stock pump would struggle to keep up adequate fuel
supply. If U increase the delivery rate you then put bigger loads on the needle
and seats in the carbs which could lead to flooding problems. I know a guy who
was running worn N&S's in his L20B with 45's. He reckoned he could put up
with the fuel dripping till he could get round to it. One day he parked the car
with the left side up higher than the right side and the carbs did their normal
thing except the fuel poured into the cylinders.. When he came back to start the
car, the fuel 'hydrauliced' and bent 2 rods... The moral of the story
is make sure the N&S are in good nick and fit a regulator
to the fuel supply line. and don't park with the left side higher..
hehe
K&N filters seem to be the best. Buy them once,
and so long as u tighten the cover screw properly and don't lose the covers, ( i
lost my 2nd one the other day) they should only need regular
cleaning and some care, to last a lifetime.
I got mine from Revolution Rip Off for anout $120
each
I love the webers and have found them to be the
most reliable carbs almost ever!
Sounds like u are hooked too!
cheers
Mick
