I think that research on the bar padding would be great, having the seat forward from the bar would also be in our best interest. On my setup the top of the main hoop is the most dangerous, with the side hoop upright as second, and the rear upright coming in third. I would love to have a seat which could fit the bill, but it looks like correct bar padding could add some peace of mind. My padding is real roll bar verity, but the peak Gees (on somthing this soft) are too high in any significant impact during an unfortunate event of a rear hit, without a helmet,so close to the noggin. Some real hi-tech padding is not too expensive to be put on A/R.

WAS: RE: Hard Dog Hard Core fitment on MSM I have the DD version. I suspect it is more dangerous to the driver than the simple hoop with no supports. For tall people, the angled supports a) interfere with seat travel and/or recline and, of greater concern, b) are so close to the head as to feel just plain menacing. If I could trade for a simple sport bar, I'd do it in a heartbeat. My configuration: Driver 6'4" with (not surprisingly) the seat back as far as it will go. I can put the stock seat all the way back, but only if I make it very upright. My Axis Power Racing seat (which gets you so low it seems your butt must be below the floor pan) hits both the upright and the slant bars several inches short of full travel. Regarding the APR seat: The ideal would be that it had been designed with a more vertical angle on the back, but it wasn't. I've considered 1) tilting the seat forward/upright using a spacer (and longer bolts) at the rear mounting points and/or 2) taking a dremel to the seat and remove material as necessary to achieve full travel. What would you do? Option (2) seems like it might be even more dangerous as my head/helmet would be positioned right *in* the space between the rollbar's supports (the vertical support on the left side of my helmet and the slant support to the right). Option (1) would raise me higher (definitely not one of my goals) and possibly result in an awkward/unsupportive seating position, but would it be any less safe than if the seat was mounted without the cant/spacers?
