I got back from the FM open house today where I had the Caterham (bone
stock '00 1.8 Miata engine except for ECU and injectors) dyno tuned with
the new Hydra ECU. The first run was made no tuning at all and yielded
277.8 RWHP at 6 psi. Further tuning resulted in 301 RWHP and 261 lb ft
torque at 11 psi. I gave them a redline limit of 7,000 rpm and it was
still pulling strong when he shut it down.

The attached graph shows the original tuning on the Link system a year
ago with 234 hp and 203 lb ft. compared to the the current Hydra ECU.
The only change to the engine between the two tuning sessions was the
replacement of the Link ECU with the Hydra.

This was a far greater increase in power than either FM or myself
expected. I was looking to get around 275 hp. Needless to say, it goes
like a bat out of hell and I am very happy with the results.

We were unable to get the Hydramist water injection working at this time
and when I do get it figured out, it should add 20 - 30 more hp along
with a greater safety margin.
