Hah yes I agree, all of those in prison are innocent. You do see my point though, even if you cannot agree with it. I think though that punishment is exactly the correct word to use. If somebody had it within their power to let a dieing son leave prision before their full sentance was served to show compassion to his family, and refused such a thing, do you think that family would not feel as if they where being punished?
As I have said before it's about putting yourself in those shoes. What would your feelings be if it was you in that situation, if it was your son let out of prison to come home to die? What would you think about all those baying for his blood? I just can't see how a 'it is fine for me but not fine for others' mentality is justified, nor moral nor ethical at all.
