Interestingly Mnemosyne has reverted to working this way for me, the only difference being that it gets up to 21 cards that I'm reviewing beforestopping introducing new cards. It doesn't start introducing new ones if I mark just one card as 2 though- it seems to have to drop below a certain threshhold- which might be 10 actually, which would be consistent with what Kevin is saying. Then it finishes the current revision queue and adds enough cards to get back up to 21. But I am definitely going through the whole queue many times without seeing new cards added, even when all the cards in the queue are marked 1. This is happening even now that I am using 1.2. One thing to note is that when it was briefly acting in the way I think was intended it was right after I had gone through a huge schedule (I think I had more than 250 cards scheduled for the day) and had marked a fair number of cards as marked. I didn't pay enough attention to be sure, but it might have something to do with that. Another thing I am wondering about is the way that the grading affects scheduling- if I have a card that hasn't been reviewed for 7 days and I mark it a 2 it gets scheduled for 15 days in the future... is this just a case where marking something a 2 once doesn't affect the easiness factor enough to perturb the scheduling yet? For me this doesn't seem optimal, so I've been starting to mark 2s as 0s or 1s sometimes. This is actually related to this discussion because I am marking things in the unlearned pile as learned a bit earlier than I otherwise would because I can only review 21 at a time, so I'm getting more 2s than I otherwise would- anyway it seems to me that Mnemosyne used to work a bit differently. Things I marked as 2 would show up pretty soon again, even if they had been marked 4 a couple of times previously. But I'm not sure about that, and I don't completely understand the scheduling algorithm. I didn't upgrade smoothly through the versions. I upgraded to 1.1.1 from a quite old version- actually you were kind enough to fix some problems in my deck that this caused. But the great bulk of the cards in question were added to the 1.1.1 version, and I am now using 1.2.
