Bo, DMB, (and Ron, SA, David M et al) I had also agreed "just right",
so you two are both missing my point.

"Little to distinguish" was perhaps misleading .... my apologies.
Obviously I recognise those same social and intellectual differences.

My point is that those differences do not point at any clear
"distinct" dividing line between the two. Between emotion and reason.
One man's reason is another man's emotion, when you get to contentius,
borderline cases. It is the socio-intellectual continuum - culture -
that decides what is intellectual (reasoned) and what is social
(emotional).

As I said also to David M, pointing out that lack of distinct
definitional dividing line, is not a problem for me, because I don't
believe there is one ... that's my point. The reason I was pursuing
the argument, Bo, was as you know, because I am struggling to accept
Level 4 as being well defined simply by being SOM, because amongst
other things I'm struggling with accepting Level 4 as "well defined"
at all.

A good point of DMB's was that "I know it" (Levels 3 and 4) even
though they are undefined ... a much more interesting point in itself.
Another good point of DMB's was that seeing Level 4 as SOM and level 3
as various state oppressions, is probably a valid idea from a
historical perspective .... I'd agree .... but not much of a clear
definition .... not that I'm expecting to find one .... just looking
to conlcude that there isn't one.

Be good Bo, if you could try to confirm your understanding of my
point, before we debate further.
