SA:
Some of us have been down this path with Platt on
his naming of the intellectual level as the individual
level. I found it difficult due to the exclusion of
the individual on the intellectual level. I find the
individual to be composed of [or a dependent
origination (in other words, the individuals' origin
depends upon] intellectual patterns, social patterns,
organic patterns, inorganic patterns and dynamic
quality.
Ron:
SA,
I feel he's in the right direction however I'd like to make
It clear that I reject isolating any of the level components.
This is what I'm stressing by trying to gain a clearer
Understanding of just what is meant by intellectual.
And why it so easy to misinterpret it's meaning.
Simply because culture is made up of intellectual concepts
Constantly evolving by contributions from individuals.
Let me clarify that this is a dynamic symbiotic relationship.
Society is a collection of intellectual patterns agreed apon
By a collection of individuals. What describes an intellectual pattern
Is the value of the contribution to the social collection.
I am not using this term to be reduced to the concept of a collective
mind
Any more than a collection of books makes a single book.
And that's a great metaphor, society is a living library
With each individual book being an intellectual pattern
Defined by it's value to the collection. If it's a popular
Book it's value is high. The reason I say MoQ is one of the most
Highest valued concept is that it is to the culture what the
Dewey decimal system is to the library.
If you author a book or contribute to the library you are considerd an
Intellectual with your value being based on the popularity of your
Contribution.
The library influences the contributor just as much as the contributor
Influences the library, how much depends on popular exceptance.
I would venture to say that this is dependant on it's pragmatic
usefulness.
I feel that this is a more precise reaching for the moon/intellectual
Definition than by the heavy handed pervious definition of
SOM is the intellectual level which in my opinion does not work
With MoQ's pre-intellect concepts.
By the definition above Pre-intellect becomes pre-opinion,
opinion being developed by the individual experience
Of the library. This puts pre-intellect in line with
Personal immediate experience and forming opinion
Based on this Rather than the one formed by the library.
I find that this is a much clearer map. One that
Will actually get the average joe to the moon
Of experience.
Question:
Is a human still a human if it is born and raised
Outside of other human contact?
